BioShock Comes To Netflix

Fans who have been patiently waiting for the live action arrival of the best selling underwater video game series won’t have to wait much longer. Bioshock is finally taking a big leap from the world of video games to being on viewers’ televisions in the live action format. Something that has historically been a bad decision for many developers in recent memory but this is a likely exception to that rule.

Bioshock is a action thriller first person shooting single player game that takes place during the early to mid 20th century. The games are known for their dark visuals, grotesque atmosphere, horrific soundtrack and of course iconic enemies. Splicers, Big Daddies and Little Sisters were the common threat that plagued the underwater city. The city known as Rapture was created with the idea of being an escape from life above on land into a new place where anyone can be what they wanted while getting a new start. The games are heavily driven by the narrative and are supported by the fast paced gameplay.

Fortunately for gamers, Netflix is bringing in some heavy names to work on this project. Directing this film will be Francis Lawrence, who is known for the Hunger Games trilogy & Will Smith’s I Am Legend. Michael Green, will be the one writing this project who’s works include Logan Blade Runner 2049. All projects listed from their previous work were generally received favorably if not really well. Here’s to hoping they can capture that magic in the upcoming Bioshock adaptation.

The Next Video Game Movie After Uncharted

Uncharted has finally been released to theaters! The film went through a very lengthy process of hard development so for it to finally be out in theaters for the consumption of fans is a miracle to say the least. Now more than ever video games are becoming more popular and widely accepted. Mortal Kombat, Detective PIkachu, The Witcher & Arcane are a few recent video game adaptations that weren’t universally hated. With video game adaptations being in the best place it’s ever been since it’s existence in cinema. There are several more projects set to be released including Halo, Fallout and Bioshock to name a few. So let’s think about some other projects that may make for a solid adaptation!

Metro

Metro is actually based on a novel series of the same name so adapting this won’t be as difficult as it would be for other video game series. Similar to Netflix’s The Witcher, the show can adapt from the book’s story rather than trying to be accurate to the video game. The series takes place in Moscow, Russia during the post apocalyptic nuclear fallout. The series follows a man named Artyom who is one of the residents that live underground in the city’s metro system due to the toxic above ground air being unable to breathe.

The series is full of different factions, betrayals, mutated monsters, wide open landscapes and nail biting close calls that make fans fixate on when or if Artyom will survive. This series would benefit from a live action adaptation but due to the apocalyptic landscape being very vast this show may end up becoming an adult animated series. This would be a perfect 8 episode series where each season follows each book or video game.

Star Fox

Star Fox has the making of a perfect animated series. It has the animal cast with all distinct personalities, it has the space drama plot as well as the vast array of planets to explore. This would definitely benefit from an animated series but be aimed for the teenage or young adult crowd. If this captures the vibe of the Cartoon Network Teen Titans series then many would take it more seriously than just a casual campy children show. Most of Star Fox fanbase are well into their adulthood which means they don’t have to pull punches. This would potentially bring more fans to the series which may give Nintendo an incentive to put more money behind the series.

Dragon Age

Since Bioware is confirmed to be working on a Mass Effect series, this leaves the question open for Dragon Age. There’s an immense amount of fantasy content on streaming services right now so there might be fatigue for this genre but the lore is so immense that it may hold its weight. Dragon Age is a series that has multiple different creatures, races, monsters, factions, magic, combat and of course dragons. The series has a lot of political aspects to it where the factions and organizations have conflict as well as hostile interactions. This series can be a standalone story since the first game follows a player created character called the Grey Warden.

Luke Cage To Save Harlem In NEW Marvel Series ‘City of Fire’

Marvel’s hero of Harlem returns in a new series from Martin Luther King Jr. biographer, Ho Che Anderson, that debuts this fall which once again has him defending his hometown. Luke Cage: City of Fire, will be created by Ho Che Anderson who partners with several artists on a three-issue story pitting Luke Cage against the mayor of New York City, Wilson Fisk. This series will also have a group of vigilantes called the Regulators.

Marvel’s description of Luke Cage: City of Fire #1 reads, “In the new series, a shadowy rogue group named the Regulators are terrorizing ordinary citizens in New York City, and Luke Cage is called to action when a Black man in his community is murdered by a crooked police officer”.

“Cage quickly crosses paths with Daredevil, who is determined to bring down the Regulators no matter the cost, but Mayor Fisk is equally determined to use them to tighten his grip on the city. There is unrest in the streets, and it’s up to Cage to keep the city from going up in flames.”

Luke Cage: City of Fire will be Anderson’s first long-form work for Marvel, after making his debut with the company in the recent Marvel’s Voices: Legacy #1 anthology. Anderson known for his biography, King, which revolved around the late Martin Luther King Jr. has worked with Marvel before on his anthology Marvel’s Voices: Legacy #1. “I can’t express how excited I am to be doing a project with Marvel, and about the level of talent they’ve lined up to work on it with me,” says Anderson. Farid Karami is drawing Luke Cage: City of Fire #1 with Taurin Clarke illustrating the cover for the first issue., Ray-Anthony Height will be illustrating #2 and then Sean Damien Hill taking on the third / final issue.

“I have been given the freedom to explore a subject I’m so passionate about through the lens of characters I’ve loved since I was a kid, and I fully intend to work overtime to make sure the results are worthy of the trust I’ve been granted,” Anderson continue. “Fortunately, the heavy lifting will be accomplished by my incredible collaborators who’ll make me look better than I am!”.

Luke Cage: City of Fire #1 (of 3) goes on sale this October; let us know your thoughts!

Mortal Kombat Sequel Wish List (PART II)

Now with the Mortal Kombat movie out in theaters and received by fans (with mixed reactions) it’s now time to re-visit this list to see if anything I wrote about appeared in this movie as well as if anything here needs to be in the next movie. I left in what I initially said as well as my updated thoughts after watching the movie; feel free to post your thoughts / comments below to add to the discussion!

(BEWARE OF SPOILERS)

Shao Kahn / Outworld

INITIAL PREDICTIONS – The trailer teased Shao Kahn via a lifelike statue that looks very similar to his appearance in the video games. Ironically this is probably the most accurate portrayal of the characters seen so far in the movie. It’s unlikely to see Shao Kahn as the main antagonist for this first movie so if he ends up appearing in the sequel and then it would be nice to see Outworld. Ideally the movie should delve more into the world that isn’t usually touched because Mortal Kombat’s lore is so rich yet it’s never fully explored. Bringing in Shao Kahn also means we’ll likely be getting Kitana and Jade.

AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE – We knew Shao Kahn wasn’t going to be the big bad of this movie (rightfully so) but the statue definitely teased what’s to come. The main bad was Sub Zero but technically the one calling the shots was Shang Tsung, who didn’t even step in to fight anyone except for Kung Lao. His killing of Kung Lao will be an incentive for the classic fight between him and Liu Kang if we get a sequel. As far as Outworld, we barely got to see any of it in this movie except for wide aerial shots of open empty desert land. In the sequel more of this world as well as the inhabitants needs to be explored in order to give context to this universe as well as how things work so newcomers don’t feel as isolated.

Kintaro / Sheeva

INITIAL PREDICTIONS – Going off of the last point, if we get to see more of Outworld / Shao Kahn then I want to see more of the monsters & inhabitants. This includes fan favorites: Kintaro and Sheeva, fan favorite Shokan warriors. Shokan are four armed humanoid warriors that are lethal combatants but Outworld is home to way more monstrosities than the Shokan.

AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE – We saw Goro in this movie (who was animated a lot better than the original movie and exceeded expectations) but he unfortunately was killed off by the protagonist, Cole Young, which felt out of place. It was teased by Shang Tsung that all the villains who were killed off can and maybe will return in the future. Hopefully we see Goro get his just due because he was hyped up off screen only to die in the first fight we see him in. When they bring him back, they need to show us why his reputation precedes himself way before we see any other prominent Shokan warriors.

Baraka

INITIAL PREDICTIONS – Another monstrosity found in Outworld are the Tarkatans. These creatures are a aggressive humanoid monsters with very sharp / long teeth as well as skeletal arm blades that come out of their forearms. The famous one that fans know well is Baraka. He ranks low on our personal list of character but it’s still nice to have him around. Hopefully we get to see him in a sequel and more of the Tarkatan culture / lore.

AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE – Baraka arguably gets thrown away more than any other “side” character in Mortal Kombat (in both the video game campaigns and the movies). With the way they treated the villains in this movie, I couldn’t help but feel that Baraka doesn’t deserve to not have the same fate. The villains were one note and killed so early to the point that I don’t really want to see any more throw away villains (like Baraka) in the next movie.

Reptile

INITIAL PREDICTIONS – Reptile was teased in the trailer and is seen twice. Once in a fight with Kano and another in a shot where we see something moving in the dark via active camouflage. Many fans are hoping that this reptile ins’t “the reptile” that we know from the games as his appearance from the trailer is less than desirable. Reptile is a Saurian which in the lore are a race of humanoid reptilian fighters. They have the ability to shape-shift into a more humanoid appearance but lose this ability the longer they stay away from their home / queen. Many want to see reptile return to his ninja appearance, so here’s to hoping that we get this in a sequel.

AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE – Unfortunately, fans’ nightmare came true with the “reptile” in this movie being THE reptile form the games (known as Syzoth). His powers were displayed but he felt nerfed in the sense that he didn’t use any of his big moves on the other characters. He used acid to sneak into the room while invisible and should’ve stayed quiet and spit acid all over Kano, Cole and Sonya. That’s not to say they should’ve been killed off but at least it would’ve made the fight more compelling It appears like they’re making Reptile “reserved” so that the fight is more fair. A perfect example is in Kong v Godzilla, Godzilla didn’t let up on the atomic breath which made the fight feel more “authentic” to what would happen in real life. We need to have this character come back and hopefully in his human form this time.

Kuai Liang / Sub Zero

INITIAL PREDICTIONS – Speaking of ninjas, Sub Zero is a fan favorite for many. Kuai Liang is the “main” Sub Zero that we know & follow throughout the series; he is also the younger brother of the original Sub Zero, Bi-Han. Bi-Han is killed and comes back as Noob Saibot which is why Kuai Liang takes on the “Sub-Zero” codename / colors so he can avenge his fallen brother. Bi-Han is a lot more violent than his younger brother Bi-Han is also the Sub Zero that we will be seeing in this film which is why the trailer teases him as the “villain”.

AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE – Bi-Han got the exact fate that’s canon to the game’s story. His dark costume teased his fate of becoming Noob Saibot, the black clad ninja specter. The movie didn’t explain mention his family or how he lived for centuries which wasn’t the best narrative decision but it’s implied in the games that him and his brother are both half cryomancer half human. Cryomancers are an almost extinct race from Outworld / Edenia that have the ability to manipulate ice as well as live for centuries. So this leaves room open for Bi-Han’s younger brother to be alive and well even though we haven’t physically seen or heard him mentioned. Hopefully we see him don the blue suit and face Scorpion or his brother in the next movie. Joe Taslim has signed on for multiple sequels so we know that Noob Saibot will be a presence throughout the series and that’s great news considering Joe’s fights were one of the highlights of this film.

Lin Kuei / Cyrax / Sektor / Smoke

INITIAL PREDICTIONS – If we bring in Kuai Liang then it also means the ninja assassin faction known as, the Lin Kuei, will make an appearance as well (it should also be noted that they appear in this movie as well). Later on in the timeline, the Lin Kuei go through a cyber initiative with their soldiers where they remove their free will & immortalize their bodies as cyborgs in order to make them efficient warriors. Now a sequel will be way too early to bring in the cyborg initiative, especially if they focus on Shao Kahn & Outworld. However, if we did get the cyborg initiative it would be nice to see the three classic cyborg ninjas (Smoke, Sektor, Cyrax) in their human form before the Lin Kuei undergoes this.

AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE – Bi-Han teased the Lin Kuei at the end and they were seen in the beginning. Anyone not familiar with the games won’t know the implications of this but this sets up a lot of other plot points including his younger brother (mentioned above), the cyber initiative where all of the assassins are programmed into the bodies of cyborgs as well as the conflict between Outworld & Earthrealm. It’s unclear whether or not they will be seen in the next movie as we still haven’t seen Johnny Cage or Kitana as well as Shang Tsung still being out in the open. Only time will tell but as of right now it feels too early.

Games That ACTUALLY Deserve A Remake / Remaster

With the recent news of The Last of Us getting a remake, many gamers became annoyed at the allocation of Sony’s assets / time towards a game that we’ve been playing since 2013. Instead of bringing us a new Jak & Daxter game or getting a sequel to Days Gone, Sony decided that it’s best for the TLOU (The Last of Us) to get a remake less than 10 years after its release. For those that may not understand why gamers were upset, it’s important to note that this game was already remastered for the Playstation 4 and it also got a sequel that came out last year. There really isn’t a need to remake a game that looks & runs up to industry standards especially when one considers the next gen upgrade possibility on Playstation 5. Some are anticipating that this game will be packaged with a Playstation 5 port of The Last of Us 2 but we don’t fully know the extent to which Sony will go with this remake.

Either way this got me thinking about a list of other games that deserve a remake / remaster or at the very least a port on to next gen consoles before The Last of Us does. Gamers want the convenience of being able to relive all of their favorite classic games in one place / on one console. Xbox’s game pass does this very well while Playstation Now’s service can use some improvement. (For the sake of this article: “Remake” will be categorized as a complete overhaul of gameplay mechanics & story / cutscenes. While “remaster” will mean an upgrade to graphics and performance while the overall game generally stays the same. I also want to make it clear that remaking / remastering a game is not as easy on the developers as many assume it is).

Examples of REMAKE: Resident Evil 2 (2019), Resident Evil 3 (2020), Final Fantasy VII (2020),

Examples of REMASTER: Resident Evil (2002), Halo Master Chief Collection, Demon’s Souls (2020)

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (REMASTER)

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks is a cult classic amongst Mortal Kombat fans. This game served as a story focused 3D co-op game with RPG elements following the storyline of Mortal Kombat 2. You can play as either Kung Lao or Liu Kang (with Sub Zero & Scorpion as the two unlockable characters with their own unique moveset) in the campaign mode. As you progressed through the campaign you could unlock special moves, combos, fatalities, brutalities and even the new multalities which had you kill multiple enemies at one time. This game also came with its own multiplayer versus mode but its main selling point was the co-op mode.

If this game were to be brought back today, it wouldn’t need to be “remade” from the ground up. They should keep the combat exactly the way it is with the exception of maybe adding in some new abilities (especially for Sub Zero & Scorpion as they have a lot less in comparison to Liu Kang & Kung Lao) as well as consider the possibility of making the other characters on the roster (Reptile, Kitana, Cage, etc) playable for the co op campaign. As far as the graphics & performance go, the game can be either upscaled or redone with the new MK engine but either one works as long as the gameplay itself stays the same.

Splinter Cell Collection (REMASTER)

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series are very popular amongst gamers. Sam Fisher’s popularity rivals that of Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series. Splinter Cell is still missing amongst gamers’ library and this can be seen by how loud the cry is from those that wish for the series’ return. Despite the game frequently trending on twitter during and in between video game conventions, publishers still don’t look at single player games (let alone stealth) as a worthy investment for their company. Most of Ubisoft’s single player games (Assassins Creed, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, etc) have started to have very similar mechanics such as skill tress, side quests, vantage points and vast open worlds; all of which don’t apply to the Splinter Cell formula.

Publishers often compare the “lower” (yet successful) sales of single player games in comparison to the revenue they get from a long running multiplayer games that works as a service for gamers. Ubisoft has Rainbow Six Siege making a good amount of their revenue and they don’t see a need in making a “one time purchase” single player game. Still it would be a service to the fans if they brought back this series with a collection that includes the original three games. If they throw in a bonus game (such as splinter cell double agent or splinter cell conviction) for fans who have been waiting for a new sequel since blacklist then there’s a chance that this would be received well.

The gameplay for this needs to stay the same while the graphics get a nice upgrade or overhaul. Add in the Spy V Mercenary multiplayer mode with updated quality of life changes to make it a compelling addition to the online gaming scene and we got a complete package. Asymmetrical competitive multiplayer isn’t a common thing today and this had the right idea when it came out many years ago, with Ubisoft knee deep in Rainbow Six Siege’s mechanics, who’s to say that they can’t apply that knowledge to this?

Ratchet & Clank / Jak & Daxter / Sly Cooper (REMASTER)

These three iconic figures are all going in the same spot for a new remaster as the gameplay of all needs to remain intact to capture the nostalgia. Platformers are a “dated” genre but they’re not unplayable so if these were brought back the gameplay needs to stay the same, otherwise it would ruin what made it special. These games had a long run during their prime in the Playstation 2 era. They brought out a healthy competition amongst each other while all garnering their own individual fan bases as well as sharing mutual love amongst gamers.

As of late, Ratchet & Clank has been putting out the most games as well as staying the most consistent with an upcoming sequel for Playstation 5 while we haven’t seen Sly Cooper since Playstation 3 and Jak’s last original release was on PSP.

Bringing either of these games’ early entries back for the Playstation 4/5 with updated rendering and textures would be very welcome amongst gamers. Looking at the jump that Demon’s Souls took from PS3 to PS5 really shows us what’s possible with the new hardware. They don’t have to overhaul the gameplay at all but keeping it in the vein of Demon’s Souls or Resident Evil 1 remake where the gameplay / camera remains relatively the same while the textures are upgraded.

GOW 2 (REMASTER)

GOW 2 was the one of the best entries in the long running series that sees Kratos massacre mythological figures. This game begins his quest on the gods of Olympus. This game can benefit from a graphical upgrade that shows off the incredible boss fights, the unique weapons and vast locations explored in this entry in a stunning 60fps. Imagine duking it out with Icarus while falling in the pit in HD graphics or in 4K resolution. Imagine seeing Gaia for the first time in updated textures. Or even replaying the intro battle scene with the colossus of Rhodes! This game has many iconic moments that set the bar for set pieces in single player adventure games when it was released.

The combat of GOW was already “remade”/reimagined in the latest entry in 2018 so for this the combat can remain the same but an upscaled port or graphical overhaul would be welcome. However due to how long ago this came out I think fans would be curious to see how the new mechanics in the latest GOW would fare in the set pieces of this game. Another option is that if they kept the combat the same but added the option to shift the camera perspective to an “over the shoulder view” with the click of a button, there’s a chance that many fans would gravitate towards having that feature.

Fallout: New Vegas (REMAKE)

Fallout New Vegas is often regarded as one of the series strongest entries due to its morally grey decisions, greater influence of your actions and the vast amount of endings you can get. Each town will have a different perception of you based on your actions as well as having the option to form alliances with different factions. The color scheme might be one note but the world itself was very vast; with incredible depth.

This is one of the few games on this list that can benefit from a gameplay overhaul as this more than anything will need the most quality of life changes. As much as we love Bethesda’s titles, their engine results in some very clunky gameplay moments that fall way below the bar for what’s expected of our games in today’s climate. Fallout 4 was a step up but I think Bethesda can go further to make the combat much more “cleaner” for lack of a better adjective. The quests should stay the same, the characters should stay the same, the world should stay the same, they should include all of the DLC content but the combat doesn’t need to stay the same. If they want to capture the RPG aesthetic that made this game loved, then they should keep in the mind that we’re now in 2021 so there’s no telling how it will be received in the community. The clunky combat is what made it feel “nostalgic” or special but with upgraded textures it will feel out of place.

Devil May Cry (REMAKE & REMASTER)

Devil May Cry was the start of a long running action adventure / hack & slash series. This game in particular is rather short but that’s because it warrants replaying the game over as well as getting unlockables. If they went the remaster route then they can overhaul the graphics in the new RE engine, this game can arguably be one of the most beautiful games of the year. This game has plenty of beautiful scenery as well as immersive locations and demonic enemies.

If they go the remake route, then this game can benefit from some quality of life changes in terms of making the combat deeper with more combos, more enemy variety as well as more missions to give gamers a bigger bang for the bucks. If this isn’t an option then they should seriously consider increasing the unlockable content from beating the game and encourage speed runs. I also like the idea of having a “original mode” and a “upgraded mode” where one mode keeps the combat the same, the other makes it play similar to DMC 5 but both are upgraded in graphics.

DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS (REMAKE)

Drsgon Age: Origins is the one that started it all in Bioware’s fantasy role playing game franchise. This game involved deep RPG mechanics, party management, creative dialogue, different origins and a variety of different endings as well fates for many characters. As far as Bioware’s resume goes, this was one of their highlights and the care can be felt.

The one (and maybe only) thing that should change / be upgraded is the gameplay. Just like Fallout: New Vegas this game has outdated gameplay that doesn’t hold up to today’s standards. Even for when it came out, this game had a very clunky and dated combat system. Very similar to the original Mass Effect, the gameplay wasn’t the most attractive to look at and we see how Bioware overhauled the gameplay for the upcoming remake so we know it’s possible.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? ANY OTHERS?

What did I miss? There are plenty of games out there so I’m sure I didn’t get to your favorite game (Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Beyond Good & Evil. Power Stone). Let me know what you think should be remade or remastered. Comment and share!

MARVEL Reveals Brand New Hero

Kestrel also known as, Sybil Tan, is a brand new & original character coming to Marvel Strike Force (mobile game). Marvel & DC aren’t strangers to adding original heroes / villains exclusive to certain outlets that aren’t the comics. Green Arrow did this with John Diggle / Spartan in the television series, Arrow. Even Batman Arkham Knight introduced a new alter ego to a popular anti hero. With that being said, this character may potentially have lasting power one day. Check out the interview exerts from Gameinformer.com the game’s creative director, Jason Bender, below as well as some images of the brand new hero!

Sybil Tan is a physicist, engineer, pilot, and astronaut of Malaysian descent. She has devoted her life to science, having worked for U.S. Space Command at NASA during her early career. While there, she earned the callsign “Kestrel.” Shortly thereafter, Nick Fury recruited her in hopes of utilizing her intelligence and passion for exploring the boundaries of reality.

She soon became the lead architect of STRIKE’s interdimensional technology and was the first to test a prototype portal generator she developed. Unfortunately, the test failed and left Kestrel floating through the outer reaches of reality in her exo-suit. Kestrel used her time traveling through different dimensions to learn how realities diverge and how to manipulate and create new timelines. While she was floating from dimension to dimension, she encountered a ton of worlds that were conquered by Ultimus, the villain of Marvel Strike Force. When Kestrel finally made it back to her home dimension and timeline, she joined up with Strike Force to help stave off the invasion of Ultimus.

Kestrel uses her exo-suit, portal cannon, and dimension-manipulating abilities in battle, making her a powerful character in the lore. She was designed by Boundless Entertainment and Scopely in collaboration with Marvel. “It was an honor to collaborate with our friends at Boundless Entertainment and Scopely to unleash a brand new superstar into the Marvel universe,” VP of creative at Marvel Games Bill Rosemann said in a press release. “From her backstory and origin to her exo-suit and powers, Kestrel was crafted to deliver an immediate impact as players around the world celebrate Marvel Strike Force’s huge third anniversary.”

Netflix’s Yasuke Official Trailer

Netflix’s anime adaption of the story of Yasuke, the first African Samurai, has released a new and more in depth trailer that shows us what we can expect. Many assumed this would be a more historically accurate telling but from the trailer we can see a lot of supernatural forces in play.

This adaptation stars LaKeith Stanfield as the titular character so expect the script as well as the performance to be well worth your time. Yasuke is getting plenty of recognition in modern media as there was a Yasuke biopic in development starring the late Chadwick Boseman but the project is evidently on hold. Watch the trailer below and let us know your thoughts in the comment section!

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart NEW GAMEPLAY

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be getting a new dedicated live broadcast this Thursday that will show new in depth gameplay as well as the new female protagonist. Details below:

Sony has announced a Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart State of Play broadcast for this Thursday, April 29. Insomniac has also revealed the name of the game’s mysterious new female Lombax protagonist – Rivet. The State of Play broadcast will include 15 minutes of new gameplay from the upcoming PS5 exclusive, and begin at 2pm Pacific / 5pm Eastern / 10pm UK (that’s April 30 at 7am AEST).

The digital deluxe edition of the game also got revealed which includes a number of features which you can read below per credit of Gameinformer.com:

Digital Deluxe Edition will include the base game, a Photo Mode sticker pack, 20 Raritanium (in-game upgrade materials), a digital soundtrack, a digital artbook, and the five armor sets seen above. The five sets include the Imperial, Android, Scavenger, Hacker, and Rebel suits. They look sleek, but that Android is giving me serious Titanfall vibes for some reason, so that’s the one I’m looking forward to the most.

Expect to play this game on Playstation 5 on June 11 2021

Mortal Kombat Sequel Wish List

With a little over a week before the release of the Mortal Kombat movie, we compiled a list of what we would like to see in a potential Mortal Kombat movie sequel. We’ll return to this list after the release of the movie and revisit some of these ideas from a different perspective. Feel free to post your thoughts / comments below to add to the discussion!

Shao Kahn / Outworld

The trailer teased Shao Kahn via a lifelike statue that looks very similar to his appearance in the video games.

Kintaro / Sheeva

Going off of the last point, if we get to see more of Outworld / Shao Kahn then I want to see more of the monsters & inhabitants. This includes fan favorites: Kintaro and Sheeva, fan favorite Shokan warriors. Shokan are four armed humanoid warriors that are lethal combatants but Outworld is home to way more monstrosities than the Shokan.

Baraka

Another monstrosity found in Outworld are the Tarkatans.

Reptile

Reptile was teased in the trailer and is seen twice.

Kuai Liang / Sub Zero

Speaking of ninjas, Sub Zero is a fan favorite for many.

Lin Kuei / Cyrax / Sektor / Smoke

If we bring in Kuai Liang then it also means the ninja assassin faction known as, the Lin Kuei, will make an appearance as well (it should also be noted that they appear in this movie as well).
